Looking At: 2021 Hot Wheels Halloween Set

Hi everyone, welcome to a new edition of Looking At. Well, it looks like it's once again that time of the year where things get spooky, and the candy gets handed out. Yeah... this time of the year is also hard for someone like me who'll end up eating way too many pieces of candy. I just can't resist! Anyway, Hot Wheels has once again contributed to the holiday by releasing a Halloween themed set. I don't always get these sets, but I felt the need to put the spotlight on this one since the holiday is next month, and all of the stores have gotten their Halloween stock.

This set features five awesome Hot Wheels cars that were nicely decorated with Day Of The Dead style artwork. Despite being from a different holiday, the artwork makes them perfect Halloween treats for child collectors. Another cool thing about these, is that they were given skull wheels, which are only really used for these releases. So whether these will be saved or played with, having these wheels makes them special models, which also makes them great for adult collectors.

I'm sure you're wondering where you can find these for your children. Well, if you live in California, then you're going to find these at Albertsons. As for stores in other states, I'm not sure. If your state doesn't have an Albertsons, then you most likely have one of their other stores. So be sure to do a Google search to see which stores they own in your state. Now, it doesn't matter what store it is, trying to find a specific Hot Wheels release can be a bit tricky. So you may have to check multiple store locations.

Although each of the five cars are nicely decorated, three of them have very colorful exteriors, while the other two don't. The other two are still nice, but the designers chose to make them black with a white design. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, and I'm sure your children will think the same. Alright, let's briefly take a look at each car.

I'm going to start things off by looking at the '33 Ford Lo Boy first, since it's one of the cars depicted on the card.

As an adult collector, this is my favorite one. I really love hot rods, and this spooky themed '33 Ford is perfect for racing through the streets of Diecast BLVD on Halloween. I also really like the combination of colors that were picked for it.

The '16 Camaro is the next one, and it's the car that's racing against the Lo Boy on the card.

If you or your children like colorful toys, then this is definitely the one for you. One of the good things about this one, is that it features purple and orange, which are two of the holiday's main colors. So it might not be my favorite, but it's definitely a nice Halloween colored release.

The '14 Corvette Stingray, is the last of the three colorful cars in this set.

This one has the most interesting color combination, and I do mean that in a good way. After all, the cars in this set are supposed to have a fun and festive appearance. And I feel the designers did a great job at achieving that look.

Alright, now it's time to take a look at the two black cars with white designs. And I'm going to start with the King Kuda.

This casting is just plain cool, and it's all thanks to the fact that it has an exposed engine. The only thing I don't like, is that it has a design that's similar to the other two you saw. I know there's a few aspects about it that are different, but it still has a similar skull pattern along it's sides. At the end of the day, that's just the opinion of an adult collector, and I'm sure your children won't mind.

The final car from this set, is the '71 Maverick Grabber.

It might not be colorful, but it's the one with the most decoration. I'm sure you children are going to love how the entire top half of this car is decorated with a cool design. As for how I feel, I think its great how it doesn't have a similar design along it's sides. Having a different design helps to makes it stand out from the other four cars.

I'm sure you and your children will enjoy rolling these around as you enjoy each piece of your favorite Halloween candy. So definitely be on the lookout for them when you make a trip to your local grocery store.

Alright, that's all for this edition of Looking At. Until next time, thanks for reading, and happy collecting. And remember, these are just toys.
