Looking at: 2020 Hot wheels F case

I wasn't able to find my whole F case want list, but I did manage to find a few things. So first up, is the Hot Wheels Dream Mobile. By now every one knows about the history. But if you didn't, this car is a recreation of Mattel's first toy car. This was in 1953, years before the Hot Wheels brand name was created. But I'll leave all those details to other sites. In this post, I'm simply stating my opinion on the release. This car has all the looks of a futuristic concept car from the '50s. One thing I like about this release is the bubble top. It just doesn't get any more retro than that. After tracking down some pictures on the internet of the toy from 1953, I'm glad red was used for this initial release. As that was one of the three colors that the Mattel Dream Car was released with. One difference between the first toy and this one, is the where the silver is. This section on the toy from 1953, was chrome like the bumper. But this is not an issue at all. I hope this casting is eventually released with the other two colors.

Next up is the recolor of the 22B Impreza. I won't lie, I was eagerly waiting for this. Don't get me wrong, I still really like the blue one. I just feel that blue with gold wheels is more common than red with gold wheels. Also, this hue of red in my eyes, looks fantastic with these gold wheels. Just like the first release, this recolor has front and rear tampo detail. Which as usual, add realism to the model.

At first I wasn't too sure about the design on the RX-7. But after taking a second look, the design seems to have elements from from the Renown 787B. Aside from the design, there were two other features that drew me into buying it. The first being the hue of orange, which personally, looks good on this RX-7. The second feature I liked, is the Aero Disk wheels. It may not be my number one favorite among the other RX-7 releases, but overall it's not too bad.

The last car for this post, is the Loco Motorin', which is basically Thomas the Tank Engine. To be honest, the only reason I got it, was due to me watching the show as a kid. All in all, this is a very interesting casting, and I like how they even included Thomas's side details. I'm curious to see what the future hold for this casting. Only time will tell.

Okay that's all for now. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the boulevard. Happy collecting everyone!

White booth Wednesday #24

It's #whiteboothwed, here's this week's showcase.

Bike: Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
Series: 2015 HW OFF-ROAD
Cool factor: 7
What I like most: What's not to like about a Harley Davidson. I love this release from Hot Wheels. My favorite aspect about this model, is the realistic tampo details on the fuel tank. On another note, I hope in the future, Hot Wheels makes some more Harley Davidson bikes.

Checking out some Team Transport

As I've already mentioned, I decided to cut back on diecast hunting for now. But I ended up needing some things from various stores. This led to me finding the last Team Transport I needed. I also found some of the F case cars I wanted. But I'll save those for a later post. For now, let's take a look at the Hot Wheels Team Transport.

I'm going to start things off with the hardest one for me to find. The mighty Plymouth Superbird! This particular release is as retro as it gets. I love the Nascar theme on this Superbird. And let's not overlook the decals that are present. All of which, give the car a completed Nascar look. Aside from the Union 76 decal, the other decals present are Bell, Edelbrock, Hurst, Holley, and Goodyear. I also really love how the 76 company logo was used for the racing number on the sides. Also giving this Superbird a race look, are the Goodyear tampos on the tires. The hauler that this comes with, is just as cool, and is also making it's debut with this release. One fantastic feature about this hauler, is the spare tire section on the bed. This feature alone, makes this the perfect hauler for racing themed releases. I can't wait to see what else they do with this truck in the future.

Next up is the Mazda 787B, and matching Sakura Sprinter. I'm glad the 787B was not a one and done release, as it's a stunning race car. And Hot Wheels did a great job replicating it in 1:64 scale. This time, the car has the ɛ̃fini livery. This brand name was one of Mazda's brands. Mazda used this name to sell luxury cars. This release still features the turbo fan wheels. Which in my opinion, are very authentic. The real car had these wheels on the front. Checking out pictures of the actual ɛ̃fini 787B, I feel Hot Wheels did an excellent job replicating this car. Now the car is missing some decals, but that's to be expected. For example, on the real car where the Brembo brakes decal is, the Dunlop tires decal is also present.

Last but not least, is the RWB Porsche. Which appears to be based off of the one on display at the SEMA show. From the Windshield banner, to the words on the front bumper, this release is spot on. Even the six spoke wheels are accurate. I just can't get enough of this Porsche casting. Now the onto the Aero Lift. Unlike the Nismo Team Transport, this Aero Lift has the theme from the car. Which in my opinion, looks fantastic on this hauler. I never thought TE37 styled six spoke wheels would look so good on a hauler. But they do! At the end of the day, I'm glad Hot Wheels got the legal okay to use RWB. The RWB Porsche is one of the most aggressive looking Porsche 930s I've seen, and it looks stunning in 1:64 scale.

Okay that's a wrap from this assortment. I think my personal favorite is the Superbird, because I love classic American muscle cars. So do you have a favorite from this assortment? Feel free to let me know. Thanks for visiting the boulevard, happy collecting!

White booth Wednesday #23

A simple showcase of what I have. The white booth is my makeshift photo booth.

Car: Fat Fendered '40
Series: 1997 Mainline
Cool factor: 9
What I like most: How could anyone not like the design styles of the '40s. For me, this release is awesome! The color gives it that perfect retro feel. Adding to that, is the stripe design on the side. It adds that extra pizzazz, without being too wild.

Hot Wheels Monster Jam

You can't like cars without somewhat liking trucks, or in this case monster trucks. I was a little late on deciding to buy Monster Jam trucks from Hot Wheels. I did however get a few that caught my eye. The first one I ended up with, was El Toro Loco. At the time, I didn't know the Blackout trucks were special. I simply thought, a flat black monster truck inspired by a bull was awesome. I ended up getting all three of the blackout trucks.

There was no way I couldn't at least get Grave Digger. So when I found the Stars and Stripes assortment, I figured I would get this version. Some time after that, I found the classic Grave Digger.

Having the Midas Monkey Corvette, I had to get the Gas Monkey Garage truck (car?). I also have all three of the Golden Machines trucks.

I didn't just want to only have special releases, So I got a few more to add variety to my collection. So that's when I got Thrasher, then Carolina Crusher, then King Krunch.

Due to Mattel losing the license to use Monster Jam, this Team Hot Wheels release was the last truck I got. They all vanished from retail stores after that.

I do wish I was able to get more of the Monster Jam trucks from Hot Wheels. I'm happy though, for the trucks I do have. Like I always say, something is better than nothing. Did you get any Monster Jam trucks from Hot Wheels? If so do post a comment on which ones. As always happy collecting!

On the hunt #17 (Loss)

If you didn't already know, due to CORVID-19, I've decided to cut back on how much I hunt for diecast cars for now. But I did manage to sneak in one stop at a local Target. The basic pegs didn't have anything I needed and the premium pegs still haven't been stocked with any of the new assortments. So the hunt goes on for the Plymouth Team Transport.

Well that's how it is for #DatDiecastLife. You win some, but you mostly lose. So have you found anything good recently?  If so, feel free to leave a comment letting me know. And don't forget to follow me over on Instagram. Thanks for visiting the boulevard, happy hunting!

White booth Wednesday #22

It's #whiteboothwed, here's this week's showcase.

Car: Porsche 934.5
Series: 2018 NIGHTBURNERZ
Cool factor: 8
What I like most: Most might've sought the Super Treasure Hunt, but I sought the regular. As I've stated before, blue is my favorite color, and I love the hue of blue this version has. I also like that Hot Wheels used the lace wheels for this release. In my opinion, they are the best regular wheels for this race car.

Status update

Due to the coronavirus, I'm going to cut back on my diecast hunting for now. I live in California, and there have been a few cases of COVID-19, as well as some deaths from it. After thinking about it, I had two options. It was either, keep hunting and possibly get sick or stop hunting. The choice for me was clear. No diecast car is worth possibly getting sick and dying. I will try to resume my search for diecast, as soon as this virus seems like it's starting to calm down.

The same as a wheel swap

I'm a little disappointed with the decision to do the Snoopy car so many times. I know that the various Batmobiles are done over and over again. The difference with those is, there released in varying colors. Which could be realistic due to the DC Multiverse. With the Snoopy car though, it's the same exact thing over and over. It would be nice if Hot Wheels could at least change the color of his dog house. Maybe white or yellow just to have a what if release. At this point, it's no different than a simple wheel swap. But for those that didn't manage to get one, then I guess it's good to have a second chance.

So what are your opinions on this matter? Feel free to let me know. That's all for now, happy collecting!

White booth Wednesday #21

It's #whiteboothwed, here's this week's showcase.

 Car: '70 Plymouth Cuda
Series: 2018 MBX ROAD TRIP
Cool factor: 8
What I like most: I'll admit, that I like this Matchbox Cuda casting a little more than, the various Hot Wheels ones. The biggest reason, has to do with the ride height. For me, it gives this car more of a stock look. I also like this brands version of the factory stripe.
