2 of 5 cruising onto my blvd

Today wasn't a day for hunting, but I figured I would check one store. I'm glad I chose Target, because I was able to get two of the Car Culture Cruise Boulevard cars I wanted. I don't know when these were released, so there's no heads-up post for them. Both of them were behind some Star Wars Entertainment remnants. The first one I noticed was this.

Of course I would notice a Car Culture that's painted in my favorite color. Everything about this '69 Chevelle is done right. The metal flake blue paint with this stripe design, make this a flawless release. Based off the quarter panel section of the stripe, it appears to have the 454 engine. Added details like that, really bring a diecast car to life. These Torque Thrust style wheels in grey look fantastic on this release. Torque Thrust wheels on muscle cars go together like burgers and fries. Just one look, and this became my favorite '69 Chevelle SS 396. Okay, the next remnant I found was the 2014 Custom Mustang.

I sure most of you remember the Need for Speed movie. If not, then that's where this casting came from. I missed out on getting the Replica Entertainment release, but got the one from the Mustang set. I never fully liked it due to the yellow wheels. So inter this one from Car Culture. Just like the Chevelle, There's nothing wrong with this Mustang. Grabber orange is my favorite Mustang color. If this isn't grabber orange, then it's close enough. The stripes are what you'd expect to see on a Mustang. But for me, are what makes this one better than the release from the Mustang set. So the hunt goes on for the other three.

Okay thanks for stopping by, happy collecting everyone!

White booth Wednesday #7

A simple showcase of what I have. The white booth is my makeshift photo booth.

Car: Honda Civic SI
Series: 2002 Tuners
Cool factor: 10
What I like most: The world may have moved away from putting body kits on tuner cars, but I will always like the Wings West kit for the Civic. This will always be my favorite release of this casting. The Wings West design, to the decals, and their placement, captures the essence of the early 2000s tuning scene. Nothing beats a tuner car with body kits, and a livery to highlight the kit.

On the hunt #5 (Win)

I decided I would make Walmart my main focus today, as I still needed more of the Exotics set. The first Walmart I stopped at had a new dump bin, but it was the 2019 K case with Zamac editions. Aside from those, which I didn't need, there was nothing else.

I didn't stick around long, as there were more stops to make. The next Walmart I went to had some 2020 B case cars. Again more stuff I didn't need. There were also some dump bins, but it was the same cars as the first Walmart.

I ended up checking a near by Target. The same story as Walmart, nothing I needed. The pegs were full with various remnants. There was also a plethora of the Target Throwback assortment.

The last and final stop is where I won. This Walmart, had the last cars from the Exotics set I wanted. There were also two dump bins, but they were filled with old and tattered remnants. I decided to not do a heads-up post for these, as they were obviously leftovers. Most of what was left was severely broken open.

Thankfully I was able to find some that weren't broken. The Mclaren I got is a little cracked from the wing though. I figured that it wasn't as bad as the one pictured above, so I went ahead and got it.

Between the two blue Mclaren P1s that I have, this is my favorite. I have stated before how I like brighter colors on exotic cars. The other one is the dark blue release from the 2016 Exotics mainline assortment. The 2016 release had chrome wheels, where as this one has grey wheels. In my opinion, chrome wheels just don't work on a hyper car such as this one. Next is the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR.

The metal flake orange that they used on this is awesome, and pictures don't do it justice. They did this car right by choosing lace wheels in gold. As such, it really stands out from my other 934 Turbo RSR releases. Now on to that gold Huracan.

Once again pictures don't do these cars justice. This Lamborghini has metal flake gold paint. Just like the Porsche, it really pops when light is shined on it. It's design is not over the top, but it does get the point across that it's track ready and built to win. Last but not least is the Corvette.

When I first saw pictures of it, I was worried that I wouldn't like it. If not done right, red with green might be too much of a Christmas theme. After looking at it in person though, I decided it wasn't that bad. Plus I like dark green Corvettes. Although not over the wheel well like real corvettes, I do like the realistic Corvette fender stripes. The last car from this set that I'm missing is the Ford GT, but I don't care for this release of it that much. However, if I find it I will post about it.

Thanks for stopping by, Happy hunting!

Heads-up: Target (Restock?)

Hey all, just stopped by my local Target and found what looked like a restock on the entertainment assortment with RC from Toy Story. I'm not sure if all the Targets nation wide got them today, but it's worth a look. So if you don't have RC yet, you may have a chance (small chance) at getting one.

Happy hunting and good luck!

It pays to look!

Do you ever show up to the pegs and think wow this stuff is old? I know I do, but sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. There have been times when I walked in and found things like this '16 Cadillac  ATS-V R.

This actually happened to be the first car on a lower peg. When I picked it up, the first thing I did was check the other side by shinning my cellphone light in on it. I was shocked to find another car that was missing the tampo on both sides. The funny thing is, it did get the front grill tampo. That makes three now. Here are the first two, again no tampos on either side.

For me these are rarer than Super Treasure Hunts, because the sheer number of basic cars you find with no missing tampo. So despite all the disappointment that could come with going on the hunt for diecast, this is one of the joys.

So how many tampo errors do you have? Are the tampos missing on one side or both? Happy collecting everyone!

New truck from M2 Machines

When I want something that's not only stock, but showroom authentic, I look to M2 Machines. I didn't go on the hunt today, but I managed to stop at a Walmart. That's when I found a cool Auto Haulers release. Now it's not a chase, but I'll never make chase or store exclusive diecast a priority. Trust me, you'll have more fun if you collect like this.

Sometimes I want a diecast model that's not customized looking, and M2 has done a good job with their releases that aren't. For the most part, when 510 diecast are made, it's either the BRE livery or some kind of rally design. So when I saw this 510, I had to get it. The fact that it's red without a black hood or BRE style stripes is what caught my eye. Adding to the realism of this piece is the opening hood. The wheels are what really sets this Datsun 510 apart from other brands 1:64 scale releases. The wheels appear to be authentic 1970 Datsun 510 wheels. I'm used to seeing either four spoke, Watanabe RS, or some type of steelies.

Up next is the reason I got into M2 Machines in the first place. I'm loving the 1957 Mack Model N this set came with. Just like with classic cars, I like the classic look of old semi trucks. Although my favorite thing about the Auto Haulers is how they're would be company transport trucks. As such, I like how this Auto Hauler is a transport truck for Datsun. The wheels used on this appear to be period correct for a semi truck. These authentic features are why I'm keeping an eye on this brand.

Okay thanks for stopping by, happy collecting!

My M2 Machines

After yesterday's find I thought it was time to show my small M2Machines collection. It all started one morning at a Walmart. After not seeing what I was looking for, I decided to look at what else was there. As I was going up the row I noticed something not right. There was a green car hauler that had clear tires. I picked it up to do some internet research. I didn't know at first that I was holding a chase piece.

Afterwards I started looking into M2Machines diecast. Taking the time to go through what type of models they make, I really got hooked. For me I like their classic trucks, and classic cars.

Just like with other brands, I don't make chase pieces my priority. If I find them great, but if not, that's also great. The next two are my absolute favorite so far with M2Machines.

You might think, well yeah because they're chase pieces, but no. I was going to eventually get some Coca Cola themed M2 vehicles. When I found the hauler, I was actually going to Walmart to see if the Coca Cola haulers had come back in stock. I found the Beetle some months after that at a Walmart while looking for another brands premiums. Next is one of my favorite diecast lead sleds. Just like the decal in the rear window says, COOL! Flames are my preference for hot rods. Not to discredit scallops though, as those are just as good. Plus the design on it is a combination of both.

This led to me getting the next two.

The next one I purchased is another chase that I found when I went to see if there was anything new at Walmart. I wasn't expecting to see something like this in the afternoon at a Walmart.

I like this Mustang, It's not everyday that we diecast collectors get a blown '70 Mustang Boss 429. Last but not least, is yesterday's find.

That's all for now, happy collecting everyone!

On the hunt #4 (Win)

Today was time to do some more diecast hunting, and I made the usual stop to a local Target. They did get the Hot Wheels 2020 B case. There was nothing I needed so I continued on to my next stop.

Needing the rest of the exotic car set, my next stop was Walmart. I wasn't expecting much, because I haven't found anything at this location in a while. As expected, there was nothing new there.

I decided I would go to another Target to see if they also got 2020 B case. Unfortunately, this store didn't get anything new. Not even a remnant of the new premium assortments.

So I made my way to another Walmart. This store didn't have anything I needed, but did have a new... or so I thought new dump bin.

I raised my eye brow at this. Non of these cars were new, and after inspecting a few, I found out it was all 2019 P case. But why wrap it up though? The world may never know (lol). The wall had some things, but was empty for the most part.

I then decided I would go to one last Walmart, and that's when I won. I didn't see any of the Hot Wheels assortments I needed. I then noticed a full peg of diecast further down the row. That peg was the M2 Machines peg. That's when I found this M2 Machines chase, with a cool Coca Cola theme.

I really like Coca Cola theme vehicles, and this Econoline Delivery van is awesome. Yes it's a chase, but my favorite part of it is the Coca Cola bottle on it's roof. I like how realistic the bottle looks. It gives you the impression that it's full of the delicious drink. M2 Machines did a good job re-imaging what a delivery van for Coca Cola would look like in 1965. The last to pictures are the rest of the assortment I saw.

I'm glad I was able to find something, but I still need the rest of the exotics from Walmart. So the hunt goes on. That's all for today's hunt, happy hunting everyone!

Heads-up: Walmart (New)

For any M2 Machines collectors out there, I spotted the new Coca Cola Christmas assortment at Walmart. So you may have a chance at something you'd want.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Heads-up: Target (New)

Sorry this is a bit of a late heads-up. If you didn't attend the Gamestop event, you may have a chance at 2020 B case at Target. Use gas at your own risk though, as the second Target I went to didn't have anything new.

Happy hunting!

White booth Wednesday #6

A simple showcase of what I have. The white booth is my makeshift photo booth.

Car: '95 Mazda RX7
Series: Then And Now
Cool factor: 8
What I like most: When I was younger all we had in terms of a FD RX7 was the Hot Wheels 24/Seven. That casting did look like a FD with body kits, but it just does not beat the look of the actual licensed FD casting.

On the hunt #3 (Win)

I made one stop to a local Target tonight, and finally had a bit of luck. At first I though I wouldn't find anything due to how messy the row was.

As the picture shows, there were cars laying in various places. On the premium pegs though, there was a Fast Rewind remnant. As luck would have it, it was the last car from the Fast Rewind assortment I needed.

This release is paying homage to the Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift 350z. I actually think the design looks better on this Z. I like the look of Bosozoku cars and personally, this release has all the vibes of one. Then to top it off, it has four spoke wheels. The back end is my favorite part of this release though.

I may be wrong, but is this the first Hot Wheels with a Japanese license plate? If so, then the plate fits so well on this model. Especially since the car is Jdm spec. Overall the tampos on the rear add realism to this release.

Okay that's all for tonight, happy collecting!

Heads-up: Target (Restock)

Didn't do any hunting today, but managed to stop at a target along the way. It looks like they got a restock of the Team Transport assortment with the Ford. If you've yet to get it or the Jaguar, you may have a chance.

Happy hunting!

On the hunt #2 (Loss)

Alright it was hunting time again, and my first stop was a nearby Target. This store seemed to restock on the Hot Wheels Mario Kart assortment. The pegs were full with 2019 Q and 2020 A case. Due to the Gamestop event though, I'm waiting for the 2020 C case assortment.

I then decided to go to a Walmart that's not to far from this Target. I didn't find any of the items I was looking for. I did though, spot some M2 Machines that I hadn't seen in this store before. As far as the Hot Wheels pegs go, I'll let the pictures do the talking. The Matchbox is the same way.

I decided I wanted to go to another Walmart, But stopped at a Target along the way. I didn't take any pictures in this store, because it was the same story as the first Target. So I continued along to the Walmart. Sad to say, but this store was also a loss. there was a full dump bin, but it had nothing I needed. The wall did however, have a plethora of the Larry Wood set.

I ended up stopping at one last Target. They did have a full set of Car Culture Desert Rally, but I already have the set. I did spot an eyebrow raiser though. The second picture will do the talking. Look carefully at the pack name and the cars inside.

Okay that's all for today's hunt. Happy collecting!
