When I want something that's not only stock, but showroom authentic, I look to M2 Machines. I didn't go on the hunt today, but I managed to stop at a Walmart. That's when I found a cool Auto Haulers release. Now it's not a chase, but I'll never make chase or store exclusive diecast a priority. Trust me, you'll have more fun if you collect like this.
Sometimes I want a diecast model that's not customized looking, and M2 has done a good job with their releases that aren't. For the most part, when 510 diecast are made, it's either the BRE livery or some kind of rally design. So when I saw this 510, I had to get it. The fact that it's red without a black hood or BRE style stripes is what caught my eye. Adding to the realism of this piece is the opening hood. The wheels are what really sets this Datsun 510 apart from other brands 1:64 scale releases. The wheels appear to be authentic 1970 Datsun 510 wheels. I'm used to seeing either four spoke, Watanabe RS, or some type of steelies.
Up next is the reason I got into M2 Machines in the first place. I'm loving the 1957 Mack Model N this set came with. Just like with classic cars, I like the classic look of old semi trucks. Although my favorite thing about the Auto Haulers is how they're would be company transport trucks. As such, I like how this Auto Hauler is a transport truck for Datsun. The wheels used on this appear to be period correct for a semi truck. These authentic features are why I'm keeping an eye on this brand.
Okay thanks for stopping by, happy collecting!
