Today On The Boulevard: 2021 Hot Wheels Entertainment - Finally Done With Another Assortment

Welcome to a new edition of Today On The Boulevard. Not too long ago, I published a post where I showed four that I was finally able to get. Two were from Matchbox, and two were from Hot Wheels. Well... once again, I was able to find some more. This time, they are premiums from Hot Wheels.

Last month, Hot Wheels released an Entertainment assortment that featured three new releases, and those are the ones I had on my want list. The Battle Ram, was the easiest one to find, I just didn't make a post about it. The other two, were near impossible for me to find. But as usual, I kept searching. Sometimes, you just have to have a little patience. Of course, being that way doesn't always yield results, but it has a few times this year. Alright, let's get to the cars.

I'm going to go ahead and talk about the Koenigsegg Agera R first. If you've been a long time reader, then know what happened with the Boulevard release I was able to order. However... if you're new, then let me tell you what happened. After Hot Wheels got the license to make this car again, they decided to put it's next release in a Boulevard assortment. I was very excited when I was able to find one on Walmart.com. Well... my excitement turned to disappointment when I opened the package. Walmart's employees figured that it'd be okay to send me a very damaged pack.

Now, in case you haven't noticed, I am the type of collector that likes to keep my models sealed. I don't do this for the value, as I could are less about how much these are resold for. I basically keep them closed for three reasons, but I'm not going to bore you with the details. For those wondering, I still have the Boulevard one. I just decided to seal it up in a plastic bag, which is what I do with some of my other open releases that I don't have sealed. Okay, let's get back to this release.

Besides wanting one that's sealed, the other reason why I wanted this one, is because it features a Gumball 3000 theme. I'm sure that's also why many of you wanted this release too. Although I'm not a completest, I do try to get as many similar themed releases as I can. And, since I have the other premium Gumball 3000 themed releases, as well as the mainline releases, I figured that I'd definitely need to have this one too. I don't know how many Gumball 3000 models there will be in total, and I might not end up with all of them, but I'm definitely glad to have this one.

I really like all of the additional details that were applied to this release. I especially like how they decided to use the window piece. Now, there is one detail that I would have done differently. For some reason, they decided to make the Gumball 3000 logo on the front really big. I don't have an issue with it being there, I just wouldn't have made it so big. I feel it should have been the same size as the logo on the Gumball 3000 themed Pagani Huayra.

The next one, is the Nissan Skyline H/T 2000 GT-X. I can think of two main reasons why someone might add this release to his/her want list. First, it's because it's a JDM, and a classic Skyline at that. Second, it's because it's representing the Forza franchise, and you're a fan of the games. No matter the reason, there's no denying how awesome this release is.

My reason for wanting this release is different, and maybe, you might have wanted it for the same reason as well. Last year, Hot Wheels decided to release this casting in a Camouflage set. Sadly, I never found it. In fact, I never saw any of the releases from that set. It's almost like it didn't really exist. Anyway, the main reason why I wanted it, was because it was finished in my favorite color. At the time, it was the only one that was finished in blue. So I was very disappointed with how the set never made it to the pegs. Thankfully, all I had to do was wait till this year to have a chance at another blue one.

Although I instantly wanted this release because of it's color, I will admit that I wasn't completely on board with the idea to use the design that was applied to the Forza S15. Initially, I felt that it wasn't the right type of design for this car. Once I found it, and I took a moment to think about, my opinion changed. Now, I actually really like it due to the fact that it isn't the type of design you'd typically see on this car. I feel this design helps to make it stand out from the other releases of it.

The front end details also contributed to how much I like this release. Besides the headlight covers, they also decided to add a tampo to the oil cooler.

The rear end was also given details, but it's just lights. Personally, there could have been more details added. If it was up to me, I would have put a white Forza logo next to one of the lights.

Despite the things I would have done differently, I can honestly say that both of these are great looking models.

I'm going to assume that both of these are liked equally, so I'm going to end this post without asking which one you like. Now, if you do like one over the other, then feel free to let me know down in the comments section. Okay, that's all for this edition of Today On The Boulevard. Till next time, happy collecting.
