Best On The Block: October 2022

It's the last day of October, so it's time to show six of the best releases that were featured in various post during the month.

#1: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI - 2022 Hot Wheels Premium

Why I Picked It: If you checked out the post this release was featured in, then you already knew I was going to pick it for this month's edition of Best On The Block. And if you thought it would take the number one spot, then you were right! I, for one, think this is one of the best looking premium Forza releases they've made. I mean, just look at it!

#2: Automobili Pininfarina Battista - 2022 Hot Wheels Red Edition

Why I Picked It: It's no lie that certain exotic cars look truly magnificent when they are finished in red, and the Battista is definitely one of them. Now, at some point in the future, there might just be another red one, but it could end up being finished in a dark version of the color. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but I do think the Red Edition red is an absolutely perfect color for this car. So this release will always be one of my favorite ones.

#3: '87 Dodge D100 - 2022 Hot Wheels Mainline

Why I Picked It: I know this release is a Treasure Hunt, but being a special release is not the reason why I picked it. As you can see, this release features a very nice looking BFGoodrich livery, and the decoration wasn't just applied to its sides, either. For this release, the decision was made to also decorate its hood as well as its roof. So due to the design choices that were made, I feel this is one of the best looking releases on the block right now.

#4: 1962 Plymouth Savoy - 2022 Matchbox Collectors Series

Why I Picked It: Turning a stock looking classic American car into a drag car is not something I was expecting to see from Matchbox. But after seeing this release, I can honestly say that I am not opposed to seeing them do this more often. In my opinion, the Matchbox designers have created a drag car that looks just as nice as the various ones from Hot Wheels.

#5: Tesla Roadster - 2022 Matchbox Mainline

Why I Picked It: For the second time now, I've decided to pick Matchbox's version of the Tesla Roadster. Like the Viper RT/10, this too is a Matchbox casting that looks way better than Hot Wheels' version, and I was very excited to see another release of it. Now, I won't pick it every time it's released, but I do think it deserves to be in the spotlight one more time. Plus, this truly is a nice looking release of it.

#6: BMW Themed Fleet Flyer - 2022 Hot Wheels Premium Box Set

Why I Picked It: Surprise! I bet you thought you'd never see one of these haulers featured in a Best On The Block post. Now, it's not like I haven't liked any the ones we've gotten, it's just I usually don't pick them because there are so many other awesome releases that I absolutely have to pick. In fact, all three of the M Series cars this box set came with would have normally been picked over this Fleet Flyer. But I am extremely happy to finally see a hauler that matches the various BMW releases we've gotten over the years.

Okay, those are the six releases that I picked for this month's edition of Best On The Block. Now that you know my favorites, I want to know yours. So go ahead and let me know what your favorite releases were from this month.
